Saulgriežu kulture. ' Movies like this is why i drink' That line killed me. Having a hard time realizing people watched this all together in a big theater. This movie is possibly my favourite movie of all time. Horror has turned into a shitshow and people have become convinced that jump scares denote how scary a horror movie is. That is complete bullshit it denotes how fucking lazy it is. Movies like the Conjuring and Annabelle and all those shitty others like the Gallows, Happy Death Day, etc. arent real horror they are jump scare movies. Midsommar, Hereditary, The Lighthouse and The Witch are genuine horrors that fill you with unease and fear. Dont rely on jump scares at all. They are directorial masterpieces and I hope thousands of future directors use them as inspiration as I will. They are a breath of fresh air and movies I can actually get invested in as I know its not going to have a bullshit ending where everything is right and okay and the good guys banish the spirit. I want unpredictability because modern horror is boring and its dying. Directors like Ari Aster and Robert Eggers are the saviours of the genre. I could go into depth of how you missed the point on almost everything. The themes of family and community, the detrimental mindset of the anthropologist at times and the other themes shown throughout the movie but you probably get those comments on here all the time. This is a movie that sure isnt for everyone but is new, its different and its trying not to be those fucking terrible mainstream horrors. And I love that for it and I aspire to write and direct something even half as good as Midsommar.

Was I the only one who thought that this would be the bit where the man clapped in Christians face while he was high and he started crying. Midsommar festival: sure it's fun and all... The only people I have seen talking about the cult's racism/white supremacy has been people of colour. Go figure. Will poulter 🥺🤤🤤. The whole theater started laughing when that old lady went in back on Christian and starting pushing his buttcheeks so he can bust quicker 😂😂. The ending is her being trapped all over again. They won't let her leave after what she saw, then she's gonna be murdered at 72.

This movie was fantastic! Yes, its very disturbing and it leaves you affected, but the themes expressed in this film are orchestrated so well! My favorite film of the year by far. So, I was crying at this scene and sequence. This dance scene is the most sorrowful process for me. I felt empathy for Dani and depressed deeply. I hated the Christian character. Anyway, Dani is a beautiful woman. THIS MOVIE IS A RIP-OFF OF WICKER MAN Change my mind. Daisy Ridley: I'm the up and coming British actress! Florence pugh: hold my beer. The elder suicide looked SO real. Seeing videos of that actually happening to people, it looks identical. Could be traumatizing for many people.

This really reflects on sweden too, one of the larger parties in Riksdagen is a far-Right party founded by nazis. Sweden really is gettin way too comfortable with fascistic ideas. Mostly due to fearmongering about the 2015 immigrant crisis and general mismanagment by the Socialdemokrats.

Im a little disturbed that any story that involves burning a group of non-resisting persons alive, regardless of their past transgressions, is viewed as happy. That alone ought to cause moral disturbance to any sane person. There's also just so much of this plot that is just straight up ripped off of The Wicker Man, but Im sure Im not the first person to point that out. Its still excellent, but thats just proof sometimes stories can change a lot in the retelling. The only thing I was missing from this scene was for them to play the actual hårga song. Then it would've been perfect.
